Reviews for Sharp LC52E77U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black (Electronics) Just received this TV the day prior to this and had it up and running in no time in any respect. I even have efficiently linked my Cox HD-DVR, Roku (Netflix software), and Pioneer DVD player (1080p upconvert) to the TV...all with new HDMI cables. Visually this TV seems great, I just like the piano black end and the moderate champagne gradiant on the backside...will seem to be even better when we get it up on our wall I think (wife likes the seem to be too).
Upon first powering it up I used to be greeted with a few simple setup questions all laid out properly on a very easy to learn menu gadget. Once completed I was once up and running on our Cox HD-DVR. I went to a basketball sport that was on and being broadcast in 1080i. Wow, merely wow. Amazing picture high quality...and I hadn't even tweaked the atmospheres but. After watching a couple of extra channels I changeed over to my son's Cars (Pixar movie) DVD to take a appear at the 1080p upconvert and the 120Hz dejudder capabilities. I had by no means truly been ready to discover the difference of this in big stores, but wow within the Cars film at house it used to be very evident and in actuality seemed really cool. The animation used to be sooo a lot smoother, it took a little bit getting used to but now I'm only amazed at it. Some would possibly no longer like it, however I think most will.
SD channels if fact be told appear suprsingly good enough. Was anticipating them to seem like whole crap on this size TV, but they dont.
Later within the evening I began to get down to adjusting the video environments to get the blacks a litter better and the color to be just proper (for my eyes anyway). Took about 30-40 minutes but I think I even have everything set the absolute best way I like it, and it seems to be even higher than the initial environments. Blacks are VERY perfect.
For $1468 shipped, that is a terrific TV. Sure it does not have one of the most latest bells and whistles...but for a few of us who wouldn't have a need for those or the added value, its nice (ie, ethernet port, USB port, 240Hz, etc).
There are only 2 little downsides I have come across:
1) The sound is only so-so, however that used to be to be anticipated...most TVs simply are no longer superb. The sound may be very clear, and voices are easy to hear/understand...but simply no bass at all. So films appear just a little drab in the sound department. We can be including a sound bar quickly.
2) The viewing perspective can be a little better I assume. The image will get a little bit was oncehed as you progress to the parts of the TV. I was once in a position to reduce a few of it by using tweaking the backlight level and distinction/brightness. But still can be higher. The stand on this unit swivels although, so we only angle it towards the couch or chairs we will be in and the problem is solved.
Reviews for Sharp LC52E77U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black (Electronics) Since I even have owned this TV for a couple of months now, I althought it may be assistful to share just a few tips and tips I have learned:
PROBLEM: INCOMPATIBLE AUDIO SIGNAL
All my A/V softwares (360, PS3, Wii, Samsung DTB-H260F) were connected to my Onkyo TX-SR607 receiver with HDMI, which used to be set to output to my Sharp Aquos LC-52E77U. And, even if the receiver was once set to "Audio TV Out" off (and even with it on), the TV kept taking drugs this error:
"Incompatible audio sign has been obtained, please take a look at the output sign."
It simplest pops up for a few 2ds, and most effective once I would switch instruments or resolution or whatever. Still, lovely nerve-racking. Connecting the devices straight away to the TV by way of HDMI led to the same error - the most effective time it didn't happen is when there used to be 2ch 44.1/48Khz PCM involved.
Unfortunately, unlike each different TV I precisely have ever owned, the Sharp doesn't have a menu way to disable audio. Muting did not lend a hand, both.
The solution? Set the audio volume to zero. No extra error!
PROBLEM: NO DEVICE DETECTED (DVI -> HDMI)
When I first acquired this TV, I plugged in my Mac Mini, the utilization of a DVI -> HDMI cable. After the use of it for a piece, the TV would stop recognizing that the Mac Mini was once linked. It seems that, whenever the Mac Mini would be rebooted or would fall asleep, the Sharp would refuse to acknowledge that it was connected anymore.
The solution? Physically unplugging and plugging in the TV (not just urgent the facility button), and disabling sleep on the Mac. I nonetheless have to are trying this unplugging dance from time to time - like for device replaces - however now not as steadily as when sleep was enabled.
Reviews for Sharp LC52E77U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black (Electronics) At least for now this TV looks like the low worth chief among new 2009 52" sets. I am very happy with my purchase after 2 weeks of possession. I am gazing it with none customized tweaking at all and blu-ray appears nice, and ATSC digital broadcast reception via a RCA ANT1500 Large Multi-Directional Digital Flat Passive Antenna (White) is very perfect too.
I bought this sight unseen because the value was once right and it seemed to have the important stuff and now not the frills, which used to be simply what I wished. Also previous variations of the Aquos line acquired respectable reviews.
This is my first massive LCD so I do now not need a lot to match with. The options seem to be just a rather extra mature version of l. a.st 12 monthss options which is excellent if you do now not need the doubtful advantages (and expense) of things like 240hz mode, LED backlighting or ultra-thin display.
The built-in sound is first rate with hidden, downward leveling speakers and I use it for reside TV (ie News and Sports) however for motion pictures I have it related to an AV surround amp.
Looks nice installed on the wall (nicer than on the stand).
Pros:
- 10-bit reveal
- non-glare reveal
I have it subsequent to massive window and even supposing you could unquestionably see the light mirrored, it is a more or less matte seem not a pointy reflection. And the brightness of the display can overcome whatever reflection there's except for in darkish scenes.
